In 1972, Uponor invented the PEX pipe and, a few years later, the world's first composite pipe with seamless technology without weld seams. Global product development for pipes is based in Sweden, while manufacturing takes place in 5 factories across Europe, one of which is located in Virsbo, as well as at two sister factories in the USA.

We are now looking for a committed and technically skilled Innovation Project Manager R&D Pipe Development. If you have a strong interest in innovative material and product development and want to grow together with us and our customers, this is the right role for you!

About the role

As the Innovation Project Manager R&D Pipe Development, you will play a key role in the development of pipe systems. You will have the opportunity to work in global teams from incubation ideas and prototype stage (project leader) to full-scale development projects for implementation (technical lead). The projects span several countries with a particular focus on Europe. The work also includes supporting and collaborating with production management and other technical and commercial functions. You will have significant responsibility for the progress of project activities and a high degree of influence, giving you a unique opportunity to shape and drive the development of new innovative products. The position is based in Virsbo but can partially be done remotely.

About you

You should have a university degree in materials engineering (mechanical/materials engineering/polymer/chemistry) or similar, along with several years of experience in R&D and product development. You do not need to have specifically worked with pipe systems, but we would like you to have some technical, theoretical, and practical knowledge of similar constructions and related manufacturing methods. The work involves a lot of global collaboration, primarily with your closest colleagues in Europe within functions such as QA, product owners, production management, and process engineers. Therefore, it is important that you are used to working internationally and understand the importance of networking, communicating, and building good relationships.

As a person, you are communicative, attentive, and a good team player. You are structured with analytical thinking and have a strong problem-solving ability. We also appreciate creative and innovative thinking. Fluent English and Swedish, both spoken and written, are a must. German is highly meritorious.
